Shamayita Math is the service provider to the Department of Minor Irrigation in the project of Accelerated Development of Micro Irrigation for 2000 hectares of land in blocks Barjora and Bankura II in Bankura district and 2000 hectares in Salboni , Sankrail & Jhargram blocks. Objective of the project is – enhancing the agriculture production of small & marginal farmers through creation of irrigation facilities
As a service provider, Shamayita Math does planning with community participation in for preparation of micro-irrigation schemes on the guidelines of watershed management water harvesting structure, check dam, hapa, pumped dug well, thirty-forty model, lift irrigation, etc. and helps in preparation of Scheme Development Management Plan.
The schemes involves formation of:
- Water Users’ Association (WUA) – a community based institution for planning, supervision, operation and maintenance of the schemes.
- Professional planning for better agriculture development – enhancing crop diversification, use of new technology and income generation opportunities
