A project for water security in drought prone districts of west Bengal

Through a partnership between MGNREGA, Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation and Shamayita Math as a Civil Society Organization, the project aims to improve productivity of land in rainfed areas of Bankura district ensuring water security, endeavoring to rejuvenate decaying Darakeswari river of Bankura through focused intervention in water conservation and harvesting Shamayita Math, as a CSO partner of BRLF provides professional support in planning , capacity building, facilitative support for preparation of DPR following watershed approach at Panchayat level so that villagers get wages while implementation of schemes from MGNREGA and at the same time develop productive assets. Shamayita Math provides support to all panchayats of five blocks of Bankura Gangajalgati, Bankura-I, Bankura-II, Chhatna and Saltora.
