Shamayita Math organized Bastradaan Utsav, the festival of donating new dress to the poor and underprivileged. For people from West Bengal, Durgapuja is the Autumn festival, where it’s a custom to put on new dress on the days of Durgapuja. Shamayita Math doesn’t believe in idol worship or any ritual. It believes in feeling of ‘oneness’ with all, and sharing love with others. The volunteers and followers of the organization put in their best efforts to do fund raising for Bastradaan Utsav, which was organized on 21st and 22nd October, 2020. The organization has been arranging this festival since the year of its foundation, i.e. 1996. New dress, specially sarees were distributed to 1200 underprivileged women, who were not only poor but uncared, single / widow or suffering from old age, from 45 villages of Gangajalgati block of Bankura. Two hundred children of Shamayita Marang Buru Primary schools at Shiulibona, Kendrabonathol, Hanspahari and students of supplementary education centre at Kenthulia were also happy to receive a new set of dress, on the occasion of Durga puja.
